Length of registration processThe time taken to process any application will vary, depending on factors such as the promptness with which testimonials are received, whether or not a comparability assessment of qualifications has to be made with NZQA, the time for NZ Police to process a police vet (Disclosure of Information form)and the date of the next Council meeting. All processed applications are required to be approved (or declined) by the NZ Teachers Council at a formally constituted meeting. Approvals for applicants who clearly meet the established criteria are done weekly, others monthly. There is no Council meeting in January. The professional fee must be paid before any processing will begin.
