Guidelines for Induction and Mentoring and Mentor Teachers
The new Guidelines for Induction and Mentoring and Mentor Teachers are being introduced from 2011.
The Guidelines were developed following extensive research and piloted in a cross-sector national pilot programme. They will help professional leaders, mentor teachers and provisionally registered teachers learn how to develop and implement a high quality induction and mentoring programme, the key skills and attributes required for effective mentoring, and the support needed to develop great mentor teachers.
Supporting information and resources are available on our workshop resources webpage. For further information contact inquiries@teacherscouncil.govt.nz or policy@teacherscouncil.govt.nz for information about professional development to support implementation.
