SUMMARY OF DECISI0N OF THE NEW ZEALAND TEACHERS COUNCIL ON APPLICATION FOR PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION
Application for provisional registration. Police vet showed the applicant had convictions, for common assault and theft as a servant, which called into question the applicant's honesty, trustworthiness, respect for the law, and consequently, whether the applicant was of good character and fit to be a teacher. Applicant was provided with repeated opportunities to respond to the concerns of the New Zealand Teachers Council. However, no response was received. As a consequence of its concerns and the lack of response from the applicant, the New Zealand Teachers Council declined the application.
