Information for Applicants
This page displays information on current vacancies within the New Zealand Teachers Council. The New Zealand Teachers Council does not have vacancies for teaching positions. For teaching positions, see the Ministry of Education's Education Gazette website.
For each position listed, a job description is available to download. When applying for a position please provide:
- a completed application form and
- a current curriculum vitae setting out your skills and experience relevant to the position.
Applications submitted without a completed application form will not be accepted.
Application procedure
The New Zealand Teachers Council (the Council) has a structured appointment procedure to ensure that all applicants are treated fairly and that the most suitable applicant is selected for each vacancy. Selection is based on assessment of each applicant's skills, knowledge, experience and personal qualities against the specifications listed in the job description. The Council is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunities.
If you are short listed for a vacancy you will need to provide the names and contact details of three work-related referees. Successful applicants are required to complete a police vet prior to being confirmed in the position. We will advise you if you are not short listed for the position and receipt of your application will always be acknowledged.
